The Eggbutt cheekpiece prevents pinching of the lips and gives a slightly more solid feel against the side of the face. It also prevents the bit from being pulled through the mouth. The release is slower and also introduces some poll pressure.
The Elliptical Dressage has a 45 mm lozenge with added comfy curved mouthpieces to soften the bar pressure.
The mouthpieces and lozenge are ground flat to distribute the pressure evenly over the tongue and bars, which together with offset links further reduce the pressure points, allowing for a more accepted contact, relaxing, and extending the nose slightly.
